In order to truly understand the barriers that people face accessing insulin, the ACCISS Study wanted to gain a better understanding of how many people require insulin globally. To do this, ACCISS commissioned reports that estimate the amount of people requiring insulin with type 2 diabetes, and estimate the total amount of people living with type 1 diabetes. On 20th November, corresponding with an article launched in the Lancet D&E, the ACCISS Study released its estimates for the amount of people requiring insulin in type 2 diabetes. You can learn more about the study and results in Estimate of Need. The type 1 estimates will be coming soon!
