A key aim of ACCISS has been to shed light on the prices, availability and affordability of insulin and supplies, and blood glucose self-monitoring devicies. Further, we are committed to improving transparency of medicine prices and availability wherever possible.
To achieve this, we developed our Monitoring Access to Insulin (MAIn) tool. This app-based survey tool can to used for phone or in-person regular monitoring (or one-off surveys) of facilities and households (of a person using insulin) within countries. The results are uploaded into a online dashboard. Please contact Molly Lepeska (molly@haiweb.org) if you are interested in using MAIn to monitor access to insulin. Link to MAIn flyer (TBD).
Presentation of Data
We have developed a database of the findings from the MAIn tool monitoring. Within this section, you can find both an overview of the data findings across countries and our national dashboards, which provide all of the MAIn survery results per country, per monitoring period. This database is a work in progress. An assesment of treatment affordability is currently in development. We have also included here links to other price surveys we have carried out in the past, and advocacy materials created from MAIn results.
